In concert with the
Carlisle Chamber of Commerce, the Carlisle
Partnership for Economic Development,
Teamwork Arkansas, and the
Metro
Little Rock Alliance, the Community & Economic Development Coordinator is
responsible for implementing measures to retain existing businesses and
industries, and for developing strategies to market the City as a desirable
location to corporations interested in relocating their operations or
developing new infrastructure. Among the steps it has taken to facilitate economic development and attract industry, the City of Carlisle is one of just 16 communities in the state that has completed the very rigorous process of establishing a Select Site, certified by Entergy Arkansas Corporation's Teamwork Arkansas program, and meeting all 50 criteria recommended by Deloitte Consulting. Currently the state's second largest site, at 1,925 acres, the Carlisle Select Site is conveniently located adjacent to I-40 just 35 miles east of Little Rock and 100 miles west of Memphis. Carlisle is also a member of the Metro Little Rock Alliance which works to cultivate growth and prosperity in those communities located within the region. |
