The City of Carlisle is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals viewing the City's website. The purpose of this policy is to inform you how we use any information we may gather when you visit our website. At any time while you are viewing our website, you may decline to participate in any activity that asks for information (e.g. surveys, online forms, e-mail, etc.). Declining to participate will not in any way affect your ability to use any of the other features on our website. 1. E-Mail If you send us an e-mail message containing a question, comment or request for information, we use any personally identifying information only for the purpose of responding to your request. We may forward your e-mail to another city employee or department that is better qualified to handle your request or respond to your question. 2. Interactive Forms Information you may provide in an interactive form, such as your name, address, and telephone number, is only used to assist us in responding to your request. The majority of forms on our website are in a portable document format (pdf), and do not require any personal information in order to download them. 3. Statistical Information We may collect certain information about online users, including the date(s) and times of visits, the types of browsers being used, certain technical data, such as Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses, and referring links, in order that we may design and operate our website more efficiently and better serve the visitors to our site. We do not collect any personally identifiable information. 4. Sales or Outside Use of Information The City of Carlisle does not allow outside advertising on its website; however, it may publish links to outside agencies and resources for the convenience of its visitors. No information furnished by an online visitor will ever be published to any outside mailing list or used for sales or solicitation purposes. 5. Cookies Our website does not employ the use of "persistent" cookies to collect permanent information on visitors. 6. Freedom of Information Act As a government entity, the City of Carlisle is subject to the requirements of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The FOIA (ACA §25-19-101 et seq.) requires that the majority of records we keep, including various forms of electronic data, must be supplied to anyone who requests them. While we take steps to protect users' privacy, personal information (with the exception of information such as that provided to an anonymous crime reporting form) provided to the City's website is not legally privileged and confidential and may be subject to release. |
