WASTE DISPOSAL

LONOKE COUNTY SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION

While Carlisle city residents pay for and receive weekly garbage pickup, and are encouraged to use this service first, sometimes they have extra items that exceed the capacity of their trash receptacles.  In those instances, residents are now permitted to dispose of non-hazardous household waste at the Lonoke County Solid Waste Transfer Station, located at 823 S. Bankhead Ave. (Hwy. 13 S).  The transfer station's hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Below is a list of items that are not accepted:

Tires
Batteries
Mattresses
Shingles
Wood or Wood Products
Furniture
Carpet
Paint
Sheetrock
Concrete
Construction Materials
Limbs, Leaves or Grass Clippings
Used Oil of Any Kind
Wire of Any Kind
Animal Carcasses
Medical Waste
Computers
Gas Tanks or Cylinders (Propane, Freon, etc.)

The Carlisle facility normally does have collection points for cardboard and old appliances and metal.

GFL ENVIRONMENTAL ROLLING MEADOWS LANDFILL

For the disposal of large quantities of waste, including some of the items not accepted at Carlisle, residents can haul waste to the Rolling Meadows Landfill, located at 1420 Hamric Rd., which is north of Hazen.  Their phone number is (870) 255-4001, and their hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. to 4:00  p.m. Monday through Friday.  Disposal is fee-based by weight of the materials discarded, and they do not accept cash or checks.
